Yamaha YXZ 1000 Dual Sport Long Travel Kit

DESIGN
HCR’s proprietary billet, slot and tab design and honeycomb boxed arms are built to withstand the beatings of rigorous off-road riding which achieving the optimal combination of strength and appeal. Every external weld is an internal plate structured into the design. While the cost-effective approach is to run tube ends for ball joints , all HCR kits run a 4130 heat treated billet end allowing all internal and external plating to be attached to this billet eliminating a potential weak point. Billets are available in both balljoint and spherical applications. 

SHOCKS 
Feel confident in the most demanding terrain with King 2.5 HCR Race Series Shocks with Internal Bypass technology in the Rear shocks and available as an upgraded option for the Front shocks. The shocks provided with this complete system are longer eye to eye, stroke, and custom valved specifically for the geometry of the YXZ system. By providing a shock tower and Longer shocks, HCR has achieved optimum performance without compromising motion ratio, minimized shock fatigue, and less compound leverage on the arm preventing further bottoming and damage to components. Included with System are King 2.5 HCR Race series shocks; sprung , valved, and tested by the owner of King himself. These true off-road shocks have the larger internals than competitors advertised 3.0’s, allowing minimal weight added without compromising performance. Backed by King, HCR provides a 3 Month tuning opportunity to meet with King technician for a live session if a different valving option is preferred. 

SHOCK TOWER
A shock tower is included with every Yamaha YXZ Long Travel Kit. This reduces the amount of compound leverage to achieve a closer to 1:1 motion ration for less shock fatigue. This allows for better valving and lighter spring rates. Chromoly CNC’d suspension mounting points and a bolt on shock tower increase the strength and integrity of the stock chassis. 

Customized Shock Package for the rear, internal bypass shocks with finned remote reservoirs are included standard with every kit. This needle valve technology can be setup with light valving at ride height to deliver a smooth comfortable ride while still providing substantial dampening force at full compression preventing bottoming out during hard use.  Front shocks are 12″ stroke piggy backs with a soft initial hit and flutter stacks for high speed. Proper springs are provided to still allow full articulation of all 21″ of travel in both high and low speed situations.  These shocks also come standard with billet compression adjusters which allow for 30% adjustment range with a click of a dial. Please note rebound is tuned into the valving and cannot be changed externally as IBP clickers (regardless of manufacturer)  only allow 5% external adjustment.  

IBP Front Upgrade 
Intended for the Aggressive Duners, Racers, and those who like to push it that much harder. This upgrade extends the same internal bypass technology included in the rear shocks to all 4 corners. This patented needle-valve design allows for less bottoming and shock fatigue on square edges, G outs, long distance racing, jumping, etc. where the front end needs a little more. While a little more harsh on initial deflection, these IBP’s get pushed, the smoother the ride. 

3.0 Rear IBP Upgrade 
Reminder: HCR shocks are Full Offroad Shocks, not UTV shocks. An HCR Race Series King 2.5 has a larger piston and internals than a standard  3.0 UTV shock. This will also add and additional 16lbs per corner. 3.0 shocks should only be considered in BITD/ SCORE/ Long Distance Race application. 

ADDED WHEEL BASE 
The track width has been increased by 4 inches on either side, with a 4 inch longer wheelbase, 2 inches forward and 2 inches back,  for added travel and stability. 1.25 inches additional clearance has also been added to all arms for added ground clearance. 

AXLES 
RCV extended axle bars are included with the purchase of each kit. These 4340 Chromoly axles boast twice the strength of a stock axle and produce the highest torque test numbers of any aftermarket UTV axle. RCV also offers Tip to Tip assemblies for the HCR Long Travel kit as an upgrade.these complete half shaft replacements are designed as a hybrid between a convention UTV plunging CV axle still and RCV patented “bootless” technology. Proven to be almost 3X stronger than factory Components. Both shafts and completes are 100% manufactured and assembled in the USA.

The engineers at HCR were able to produce incredible numbers on the XXZ Kit. At 20 inches front and 21 inches of rear travel and 4 inches of additional wheel base; the suspension has been completely redesigned. The extensive time in R&D allowed increased travel numbers without interfering with critical characteristics such as bump steer; adding less then 0.3º of change from factory. Caster / Camber settings have been embedded into the design of the Suspension eliminating the need for an adjustment heim, which reduces internal structure of the arm and presents a weak point upon impact. Impressively, HCR achieved a minuscule 0.06º change in caster / camber throughout the front Travel Cycle and 0.00º fluctuations throughout the rear travel cycle. 

HCR uses the same custom alloy as their popular Elite kit to manufacture the Yamaha YXZ Kit. This proprietary material boasts 30% stronger tensile and yield strength compared to 4130 series chromoly. The material goes through several processes and is hardened for better wear resistance and overall strength.

Polaris RS1 Mid-Travel Suspension System – Moab Edition

DESIGN
The HCR Racing Polaris RZR RS1 Mid-Travel Suspension Kit is all NEW, with stealth inspired design ready to attack extreme terrain. This new design to the Polaris platform is patterned after HCR’s highly favored Moab edition arms, which feature unique compound angles for better approach to obstacles along the trail. These improved angles, in combination with added ground clearance, help clear and transfer over terrain with ease. The Front A-arms offer an increase of 1.25″ ground clearance and 2.5″ of increased ground clearance in the rear. Additional rear clearance available with HCR’s High Link setup for the extreme terrain and rocky trail situations.

MODIFY WITHOUT COMPROMISE
The versatility of a +3″ mid-travel kit allows for an increase in stability, travel and drivability while maintaining 70″ of track width for tight trails and maneuverability.  The RS1 kit is specifically designed to reuse the Factory shocks. A shock tower is provided to improve motion ratios by relocating mount points and allowing shocks to perform efficiently. This relocation offers optimal performance and handling through reduction of compound leverage providing the best ride quality in the toughest terrain. With recommended changes applied, the RS1 MTS kit offers 18″ of usable travel; front and rear.

CONSTRUCTED WITH THE UTMOST ATTENTION TO DETAIL
This new design compliments the RS1 Apache-like cockpit style while enhancing overall vehicle capabilities. The RS1 MTS kit provides a more aggressive stance to this single seat Side-by-side through additional track width and increased wheelbase. Extending the track width to 70 inches increases stability in cornering and technical terrain and provides a better footprint for traction and control; wheelbase is increased by 2 inches to improve handling at higher speeds and extreme climbing angles. Caster/Camber settings have been embedded into the design of the suspension eliminating the need for adjustment heims, and allowing for stronger internal structuring. Every kit comes complete with RCV Custom HCR Axle bars, which boast twice the strength of a factory axle.

FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
The NEW RS1 MTS kit, along with HCR’s Complete line of suspension systems, is manufactured using HCR Elite Material. This proprietary material boast 30% stronger tensile and yield strength compared to 4130 series chromoly. The material goes through several processes and is hardened for better wear resistance and overall strength.

An intensive process is used during each design to simulate and refine the new geometry to match the characteristics of the stock suspension while increasing suspension travel. Critical measurements are verified, such as ball joint angle, CV joint angle and clearance to surrounding parts to ensure no binding or interference. A slot and tab honeycomb design is used in the final design process to increase internal strength exponentially. The quality fit and finish, ease of installation, and top shelf performance of these kits are what set HCR Racing apart from the competition. No kits are released to the public without numerous hours of vigorous testing in the rocks, desert, and dunes for true dual-sport application.

AEV JK Dualsport XT 2.5″ Lift Kit

AEV’s DualSport 2.5-Inch XT Suspension System was designed to appeal to Jeep JK Wrangler owners who want the added highway and trail performance of AEV’s taller 3.5 and 4.5-inch DualSport Systems, but with a reduced lift height.

As with AEV’s 3.5 and 4.5-inch systems, painstaking attention was paid to tuning and geometry in the new system. Not content to simply borrow the same spring rates and shock valving of the taller systems, AEV set out to specially tune coils and shocks that are unique to the needs of the new, lower system. The result is new frequency-tuned, triple-rate coils at all four corners and custom-tuned Bilstein shocks matched to the coils. Additionally, AEV evaluated the new system for cornering and braking and determined that a new, geometry-corrected rear Track-Arm Tower would be needed to help create the kind of handling AEV suspension systems are expected to have.

The new system is rounded out with everything else needed to complete the package. This includes a custom rear track-arm, front stabilizer end link relocation brackets, bump-stop extensions and brake line relocation brackets. Combined with the springs and shocks, these components allow AEV’s DualSport 2.5″ XT Suspension System to deliver classic AEV on and off-highway performance, exceptional reliability and a lower, more user-friendly lift height.

AEV JK Premium SC 3.5″ Lift Kit

AEV’s DualSport Suspension Systems have taken off-road suspension engineering to the next level. At AEV, suspension development is about more than just adding lift height, articulation, or flashy-looking components. It’s about bringing OE-level suspension engineering to the aftermarket to create a true do-anything “dualsport” suspension – one that is both extremely capable off-road, while offering unparalleled on-road performance and handling.

To achieve this, AEV relied on factory engineering methodology. We started with the JK’s control-arms, track-arms and steering. The geometry of each component was optimized to accommodate the new lifted posture of the JK. It may surprise people to learn that proper geometry is where AEV’s Dualsport Suspensions get much of their tremendous cornering and braking characteristics. The fact is, when the geometry is right, the springs and shocks don’t have to compensate for poor performance in these areas.

Once the geometry was correct, we turned our attention to the springs, again relying on OE methods, which in the case of springs means frequency tuning.  Frequency-tuned coil springs share harmonious oscillation characteristics that allow them to work as a matched set, front and rear.  The benefit is that they help to keep the JK balanced and in contact with the road, even when driven at high speed over rough surfaces.
 
After the springs were tuned, the next step is shock tuning. Rather than use an off-the-shelf shock tune, we partner with the engineers at Bilstein to develop a proprietary tune matched to our unique suspension. Together we spent days at a proving grounds facility testing numerous valving combinations in an array of simulated driving conditions. Thanks to the previous optimization of AEV’s geometry and coil springs, it allows us to tune the shocks with a focus on damping suspension movement – rather than on trying to mask unwanted handling problems resulting from poor geometry or spring tuning.

Overall, no matter which Dualsport Suspension System you choose, no matter where you drive it or how you load it, you can count on your Dualsport-equipped JK to remain comfortable, balanced and ready to explore.
